Metallic Green Hoosier
This customer had a wonderful vintage Hoosier cabinet base that needed a makeover. A stunning deep green metallic paint, applied with a multiple step process, was used to achieve a one-of-a-kind effect.
The original paint layers were chipping, stained and peeling. The piece required stripping and sanding in preparation for the new paint finish. For protection, the exterior was given several coats of polyurethane. The interior was scrubbed and given a new, neutral tan color paint finish. Where possible, the original hinges and clasps were cleaned and retained. New silver-toned handles and knobs were added. The sliding white enamel top was cleaned as well.
